# Quickstart: launch a token

Launching takes one wallet signature and about thirty seconds.

Go to [stonkfun.xyz/launch](https://www.stonkfun.xyz/launch).

![The launch page](https://2634848750-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FfCxPyGLkCWEEYzj4BueG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6d5109c60588cf8a41faccc96e7e8681f50da981%2Flaunch.png?alt=media)

## 1. Pick a fee model

![Fee model selector](https://2634848750-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FfCxPyGLkCWEEYzj4BueG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-0681d4f3b1e30569431df40a1d311cb9b7f2c963%2Flaunch-fee-model.png?alt=media)

| Option       | What it means                                                                                                                                                                    |
| ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Standard | A fee coin. You get a locked position of your own and claim its trading fees whenever you like. |
| Reward token | A reward coin. Holders earn instead, because the mint carries a transfer tax paid straight to them. You earn as a holder like everybody else, with no separate creator position. |

If you choose **Reward token**, you also pick the rate: 1% (the default, keeping total friction at 2% alongside the 1% pool) or 3% (which triples the holder reward stream). The rate is baked into the mint and can never be changed afterwards.

See [Fee models](/stonkfun-docs/core-concepts/fee-models.md), [Standard launch](/stonkfun-docs/launching/standard-launch.md) and [Reward launch](/stonkfun-docs/launching/reward-launch.md).

## 2. Optionally add a dev buy

![Dev buy and airdrop mode](https://2634848750-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FfCxPyGLkCWEEYzj4BueG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-3722641b12aec5dc59009f064b677c5dc6f64010%2Flaunch-devbuy-airdrop.png?alt=media)

You can buy up to 2.5% of the supply as the pool's first trade. It is bundled atomically with the transaction that makes the pool tradeable at all, so nothing can trade ahead of it. The SOL cost rides in the same payment as the launch fee, and the tokens land in your wallet the moment the pool is live.

See [Dev buy](/stonkfun-docs/launching/dev-buy.md).

## 3. Optionally turn on Airdrop mode

On a reward launch you can hold part of the supply out of the pool and drop it on the holders of the token you are pairing against. The recipient list is frozen the moment you request a quote, before your mint is public, so nobody can buy into the drop after seeing your token.

See [Airdrop mode](/stonkfun-docs/launching/airdrop-mode.md).

## 4. Name it, upload artwork, add links

![Token details](https://2634848750-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FfCxPyGLkCWEEYzj4BueG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-c22281b25a0795c4376fb8a967c81ba4d355cbb8%2Flaunch-token-details.png?alt=media)

| Field       | Rules                                                          |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Token name  | 1 to 32 characters                                             |
| Symbol      | 1 to 10 characters                                             |
| Token image | PNG, JPEG or WebP, square, up to 512 KB |
| Website | Optional, must be a public HTTPS URL. Blank links to StonkFun. |
| X / Twitter | Optional                                                       |
| Telegram    | Optional                                                       |

Your image and metadata are stored permanently on Arweave, so they cannot be taken down or swapped later.

## 5. Pick the quote token

![Quote token picker](https://2634848750-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FfCxPyGLkCWEEYzj4BueG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-2f38fbcede552cfba5b5fa6a3f3470a516669ead%2Flaunch-quote-picker.png?alt=media)

Choose the asset your token will trade against. Tabs group the registry by category, and the number beside each tab is how many mints are currently launchable in it.

The **Custom** tab lets you paste any mint address, which is then put through the [safety audit](/stonkfun-docs/core-concepts/quote-token-safety.md) before it can be used.

## 6. Review the summary and pay

![Launch summary](https://2634848750-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FfCxPyGLkCWEEYzj4BueG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-fb5111f0f58c00095f4f0b4a58820b9e3ebee50e%2Flaunch-summary.png?alt=media)

The summary panel restates everything that will be signed into your quote: the starting market cap, the supply, the pool's trading fee, the transfer tax on a reward launch, and the total launch cost including any dev buy or airdrop.

Connect your wallet and sign. That single signature pays the launch fee, and the payment, mint, pool, liquidity and dev buy are submitted as one atomic bundle. They land together in a single block or not at all.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If the page says **processing**, your launch is already on chain and the last details are being recorded. It completes on its own. Never pay twice, because a second payment creates a second token.

If the bundle does not land, you are told so explicitly and nothing was charged. Start again from a fresh quote.
{% endhint %}

## 7. You now have a token page

You land on `/token/<mint>`, which carries the live chart, holders, transaction feed, and on a standard launch the claim button for your Fee Key.

![Token page header and metrics](https://2634848750-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FfCxPyGLkCWEEYzj4BueG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-8d8f99a8f32b80c7cb9380cabefc89b7845aaec0%2Ftoken-header.png?alt=media)

The right-hand rail carries the swap widget, the token's flywheel status, its burn history, and the mint, pool and quote addresses.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://stonkfun.gitbook.io/stonkfun-docs/getting-started/quickstart.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
