# Graduation

On StonkFun, graduation is a market-cap milestone rather than a venue change. There is no migration and nothing moves. The token has traded on a real Raydium pool since block one.

## The thresholds

| Status            | Market cap          |
| ----------------- | ------------------- |
| New               | Below `$32,000`     |
| About to graduate | `$32,000` and above |
| Graduated         | `$40,000` and above |

Launches open at `$5,000`, so graduation is an 8x move.

## Graduation is permanent

Once a token has touched `$40,000` it is graduated for good. If the market cap later falls back to `$10,000`, the token stays graduated.

The same record also tracks each token's peak market cap, which likewise only ever rises.

## Graduation progress

The API and the interface expose a `graduationProgress` value between 0 and 1. A token at `$20,000` reads `0.5`, and a graduated token always reads `1` regardless of its current market cap.

## Filtering by status

```bash
curl 'https://www.stonkfun.xyz/api/public/v1/tokens?status=aboutToGraduate'
```

| `status`          | Meaning                                  |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| `new`             | Under the about-to-graduate threshold    |
| `aboutToGraduate` | At or above `$32,000`, not yet graduated |
| `graduated`       | Has ever touched `$40,000`               |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://stonkfun.gitbook.io/stonkfun-docs/core-concepts/graduation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
