# Introduction

**StonkFun** is a Solana launchpad. It creates fixed-supply SPL tokens and opens them into permanently locked Raydium CLMM markets, quoted against something real: a tokenized stock, a pre-IPO share, a currency, a commodity, SOL, or any other token that passes the platform's safety audit.

Every launch shares three guarantees. Liquidity is locked forever, because each launch opens Raydium Burn & Earn positions that can never be withdrawn. Fees keep flowing anyway, since locked liquidity still earns, and the trading fees from those positions go to the creator, the holders, the platform and the Ecosystem Flywheel depending on the fee model chosen at launch. And the platform never holds your keys: you sign your own launch fee and your own fee claims, no StonkFun key signs anything on your behalf, and no endpoint accepts a private key.

## What makes it different

Most launchpads pair a new token against SOL or a stablecoin. StonkFun pairs it against anything admin-approved and audited, so a token can be denominated in Nvidia, in gold, in a pre-IPO company, or in another StonkFun launch. The price chart of a StonkFun token is its price *in the asset it was launched against*, which is the whole reason to use it.

## The short version

A launch mints **1,000,000,000 tokens** at 9 decimals, seeds all of that supply one-sided into a Raydium concentrated-liquidity position spanning roughly `$5,000` to `$1,000,000,000` of market cap, splits that liquidity across two identical locked positions, and hands one position's Fee Key NFT to the party that earns from it.

The fee models differ only in who holds that second Fee Key:

| Fee model | Pool tier | Second Fee Key goes to | Who earns |
| ----------------- | --------- | ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Standard, 1% tier | 1%        | Creator                | Creator takes 0.5% of every trade, platform 0.5%                         |
| Standard, 2% tier | 2%        | Creator                | Creator takes 1.5% of every trade, platform 0.5%                         |
| Reward (v3)       | 1%        | Ecosystem Flywheel     | Holders earn from a 1% or 3% transfer tax; flywheel takes 10% of LP fees |

## Who these docs are for

Creators launching a token should start with the [Quickstart](/stonkfun-docs/getting-started/quickstart.md). Traders and holders will want [Browsing and discovering tokens](/stonkfun-docs/getting-started/browsing.md) and [Holder rewards](/stonkfun-docs/earning/holder-rewards.md). Developers integrating StonkFun should start with the [API overview](/stonkfun-docs/developer-api/overview.md).

{% hint style="info" %}
Figures in these docs (fee tiers, thresholds, costs) reflect the live platform at [stonkfun.xyz](https://www.stonkfun.xyz) and can change. Where a number matters to your integration, read it from `GET /stats` rather than hardcoding it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://stonkfun.gitbook.io/stonkfun-docs/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
